Shapeshifter Week 5 Winners!
Shapeshifter Week 5 Winners!

Delicate shadows and graceful movement landed Natan Levitas's PAPER PLANE squarely in the winners circle. Consistantly high votes made it clear - this guy deserves an iPod! And who can resist a Panda fighting off bees with a spliff, uh, I mean a stick? James M's PANDAMONIUM, proof of some serious dedication, got your attention. We loved the back skid, man! Mad props...mad props.

Shapeshifter: Sound & Sound FX

A revolutionary thread has been opened by Mikergee which invites all of you to talk about Sound & Sound FX. For humanity and for the greater good, so that they too, may experience the magic of sound. This shall be marked in the chronicles of the animation warriors as a day of rejoicing and celebration.

Shapeshifter: Week Four Winners!

BradBrad knew the secret ingredient to the viewers' heart - fire effects!

But even without those (even though that’s what counts) Dragon knight is one great animation. With great design and a nice seamless loop concept, it's no wonder he jumped to top rated in only a few days.

Darn Aliens by ArtBIT is, with no doubt, one of the viewers' favorite shapeshifter. Its storytelling style is top notch and the use of false transparency makes it so much fun to watch. And of course, let's not forget the smashing catch phrase. Congratulations you two!

From the Forum: Group by Color

When creating complicated characters, highlighting can be difficult. Bradbrad suggests the following: Select all the highlights of the same color and create a group for them. For every color used in a frame, Bradbrad simply creates a group for each color. This way, if he feels he needs to change colors, he selects the group for that color, and applies the change.

 8 Frame Walk

The walk cycle is one of the most important concepts in animation. Naturally there are many types of walk cycles, but here is one specific demonstration. This short tutorial (8 frames) includes frame numbers and rulers in wire-frame for anyone who wants to learn, Courtesy of our beloved UV.

Shapeshifter: Week Three Winners!

I loved his movie BARNSTORMER so it was exciting to see what
Taylor would do with color...and he didn't disappoint, making the most
of our added feature in his short COLOR DREAM.
Rodriguez always kept us guessing with his MR. COO series - endlessly inventive and thoughtful. His skill
translated well, with the sassy SHAPE SHIFT HER.
Love those finger snaps!  Congratulations, guys!
